The Normal Library

Last Thursday, it was a cold raining evening, so we decided to check out the Normal Public Library’s discovery center play area. (Okay, to be honest, I apparently read an email incorrectly and thought the Mothers of Multiples group was having a play date there…..guess I had the wrong time or day!) Oh well. Evan and Jaden seemed to have so much fun exploring! I was impressed with the interactive stations in the children’s area, and Evan and Jaden are just reaching that age where they can explore and ‘do’ on their own.

Evan decided to get a little too independent and
ventured into the book aisles a couple times!

Blocks on the wall??
Wow- this is a new concept: side-ways towers……

Jaden had lots of space to practice his walking.

I am pretty sure this particular space was designed more for those 1 and under as there was a little wall separating it. Well, the boys had to crawl up-over-and-down the wall
over and over again!

I wish I would have taken more pictures. There was a playhouse in the middle of the room with doors on two sides. The boys crawled back and forth, in and out of the house for a while. I guess it was nice I missed the play date so we could have more of the space to ourselves. For those of you in the Bloomington-Normal area, I would definitely recommend checking out the library on raining or snowy days!

Bonus blog video:
This video is from tonight. The boys must have told some joke to each other because I had Jaden across the room and they were just giggling to each other. The video was taken when I brought Jaden closer to Evan----apparently hilarious!

Busy Boys

The boys are at that age, (or maybe this is just the tip of the iceberg!), where they are non-stop doing things. Luckily they do like to be near each other, so as they crawl around the house, I am only going in 1 direction following both of them. I have a feeling walking may change that!

They love all their toys – music, lights, even books that don’t make any noise. Here’s a clip of Evan---
catch the adorable wave in the first second!

They both have their unique mannerisms. Evan is very ‘trained.’ Upon command he will wave, clap, do ‘so-big,’ ‘ba’ like a sheep. Jaden doesn’t have as much patience…….or maybe he’s just too busy. He can do all those things if he wants, but instead, he is our babbler. Goi, Goi, Goi is his favorite phrase. Hopefully someday I’ll learn what that means.

This is their alphabet train- Jaden will push Evan around on it. Someday, we'll work on those letters!

Jaden always has to be pushing something when he crawls. And as you can see here--he will use anything he
can find in the cupboards!

Jaden reading to Evan---trying to share books.

They are exhausting to keep up with, but so-much-fun!
